Servus! We are Marieken and Michel Weijers and we ended up in the beautiful holiday region of Lungau by chance at the end of 2017. Since then we have fallen in love with the versatility of the area, the magnificent nature and the central location for many fun, active and cultural excursions. Since 1 October 2021 we are the new owners of Haus Katris in Mauterndorf and we also live in the house on the ground floor, so always nearby for questions and information. Curious? Come experience it for yourself and feel welcome! Mauterndorf is a charming medieval village situated in a sunny high valley. A few kilometres away is the village of Mariapfarr, the municipality with the most sunshine hours per year in all of Austria! We rent out 4 apartments in our house for 2 to 6 persons. Our house is very conveniently located on the edge of the village, within walking distance of the historic medieval village centre. Less than 100m away you will find the (ski)bus stop, a baker and within a radius of 250m a supermarket, cosy cafés/pubs and several good restaurants for every budget. Moreover, Mauterndorf is only 12km from the A10 motorway and we are easily accessible in every season. Of course we offer you free WIFI, TV and a parking space in front of the door. As for WINTER, it is good to know that our region, due to its high altitude (1100 metres) and many snow cannons, is considered one of the most snow-reliable regions in Austria. The ski season therefore runs from late November to early May! Within a radius of 15km you can enjoy 4 different ski areas with us -with one and the same ski pass- each with their own character and together offering approximately 300km of slopes and 50 lifts. Free use of the ski bus is of course included! SUMMER in Mauterndorf is versatile and varied. Whether you come to hike, climb mountains or go mountain biking, are looking for a different challenge, or prefer to discover nature; you will certainly find something suitable with us. Mauterndorf's open-air swimming pool, with super-fast slide, is only 200m away. You can make use of our enclosed garden. We have created some seating areas and a swing for the children. Any bikes you bring along can be stored safely under cover. All our summer guests receive the free LUNGAU CARD from us. It entitles you to numerous free activities and discounted activities throughout our Lungau holiday region. In short, Haus Katris is the ideal base for your winter and summer holidays, we hope to welcome you with us soon! Marieken & Michel
